The Arts in our States
|
Every state, with varying commitments
and differing results, deals with the arts. The citizens of
those states comprise the culture, definitely American but
clearly different. States have a heritage that influences
their "personality." Witness the process and results
of the U.S. Mint in their project to have the U.S. quarter
dollar reflect what's important to each state, allowing them
to design their own symbolic depiction of their state on the
reverse of the coin. There's an education in every handful
of quarters for young and old alike!
The Art & Culture Taskforce - ACT - is
interested in supporting endeavors within each state that
enable the Arts and expression to flourish for their citizens.
The intent is to create a panel comprised of a minimum of
three ACT members for each state that will work closely with
many organizations within the state that promote the Arts
and creation of the Arts.
Film making is suffering throughout the U.S.
States that were once flush with work for actors and crews
have fallen on hard-times, if not entirely decimated. It's
ACT's intent to assist states in attracting film, television
and theater production. The economics make sense: according
to the Monitor Report, a study analyzing the impact of film
production in the U.S., film budgets are leveraged more than
three times in the communities where films are shot and completed.
Film making is good business! ACT is a non-partisan organization that seeks
to provide fertile ground for the cultivation of the Arts!
Let's do our part to leverage our resources to make each state
a cultural goldmine for everyone in the United States!
